RSPO certification levels overview

It’s Palsgaard's aim to encourage customers and other business partners to join us in the support of responsible sourcing of palm oil based raw materials.

    Certification levels:

The RSPO Supply Chain Systems have four different certification levels. All certifications on palm oil involve RSPO certified plantations as a basis for the global trade with certified sustainable palm oil. The four levels are briefly described below:

    • Book and Claim (BC): Tradeable certificates of RSPO CSPO to be used on the world market (GreenPalm certificates)
    • Mass Balance (MB): Administratively monitoring of the trade of RSPO CSPO going together with conventional palm oil in the production. Find out more about what is needed to work with Mass Balance products and learn what to expect from Palsgaard here
    • Segregation (SG): Palm oil and its derivatives come from only RSPO certified sources and are separated through the supply chain without mixing of conventional palm ingredients. Find out more about what is needed to work with Segregated products and learn what to expect from Palsgaard here.
    • Identity Preserved (IP): This level ensures that all palm ingredients to the end user are uniquely identifiable and traceable to the specific mill and its supply base.

Palsgaard is certified to the RSPO Supply Chain Certification Standard (SCCS), Mass Balance (MB) and Segregated (SG) levels. With these certification levels we are therefore able offer you a wide range of sustainable and certified palm oil based products.
