About Palsgaard

Quality management
Palsgaard's quality management system is built on the ISO 9001 platform, a certification that has been maintained for many years. The system was upgraded in 2011, and now our operations are certified according to ISO 22000 and ISO/TS 22002-1 plus FSSC 22000.
These certificates cover both Palsgaard A/S and Nexus A/S - Nexus activities, including R&D, quality control and analysis, product and raw material specifications and the Nexus legislative service, contribute to Palsgaard's overall work. The standards require a Management Representative and a Lead Food Safety Team, both of which are covered by Palsgaard's Quality Management Department.
Extensive internal auditing
Over the years, Palsgaard's internal audit system has provided a great number of benefits. Around 10% of all our employees within Denmark across various departments have been trained as internal ISO 9001 and 22000 auditors. This enthusiastic team is responsible for coming up with ideas for quality and efficiency improvements, which are then passed on during Management Reviews.
Continual advancement: striving for the best
Palsgaard is constantly focused on making internal improvements. Management Reviews, hosted by the Board of Directors, take place three times a year, where performance statistics gathered since the last review are presented and analysed against our quality objectives. These include product quality, order confirmation time, delivery time, number of customer complaints, raw material quality and delivery time, new product sales performance, results from verification analyses, food safety and supplier errors. Results from internal audits and non-conformity reports are also presented. The Board of Directors then decides on new strategies and initiatives for continued improvement - these are systematically filed for review at the next meeting.
Consistent customer satisfaction
Our customers' satisfaction is close to the heart of everyone at Palsgaard, and a number of surveys have shown that this is a real strength. Our recent 2010 questionnaire revealed that our customers agree, rating our overall performance as a supplier at 4.3 on a scale of 1-5. Particularly high scores were awarded to our product quality, product documentation, delivery quality, ordering procedure and the attitude of our 'heart working' staff.
Food safety for the future
Food safety is, of course, a central issue in our quality management, requiring the systematic approach laid out in the HACCP principles. In 2010/2011 we reviewed our HACCP activities with the purpose of gaining ISO 22000 certification. We have also chosen to ensure our Prerequisite Programme meets the requirements of ISO/TS 22002-1and the additional demands of FSSC 22000. An inter-organizational team, as well as a number of subgroups created to offer their expertise on raw materials, production processes and quality, technical supplies, transportation/storage, plus product specifications and their application, supports the Quality Coordinator on all food safety aspects.
All these elements are integrated in one quality management system, including all policies and objectives, procedures, work instructions, and registration forms, all of which are made readily available to our employees in electronic form.
