2011 |
Palsgaard purchases the remaining 50% of the shares in Emulsion Holland B.V., thereby taking over full control of Dutch PGPR manufacturer in Zierikzee in Holland, together with its South African subsidiary Emulsion Holland South Africa. Palsgaard announces its plans to build a brand new state-of-the art emulsifier factory in Asia. The capacity of the new factory, scheduled to start production in late 2012 will be in excess of 20,000 MT. Palsgaard also announces its ambitious goal to become
CO2 neutral by 2020. |

Grupo Bimbo, the world's largest cake manufacturer names Palsgaard "Supplier of the Year". Knud Brix retires as Chairman of the Presidium of the Schou Foundation after 62 years of dedicated service to Palsgaard. New Chairman is long term board member Rasmus Christiansen. |

Palsgaard converts from heavy fuel to natural gas the main energy source for the entire company. Palsgaard also wins the "Wise m2" award initiated by Danish building society Real Kredit Danmark for its CO2 reductions. |

2007 |
Palsgaard opens new subsidiaries in both China and in the US. In addition to manufacturing products for the Chinese market Palsgaard China Ltd. also places application facilities at the disposal of its clients. Palsgaard inaugurates its new esterification plant and increases the production of these types of emulsifiers by 500%. The esterifiaction plant is part of a major investment plan started in 2004 aacounting to more than €50 million. |

Palsgaard opens a new sales office in France - Palsgaard France S.A.S. A brand new distillation plant is inaugurated at the factory in Juelsminde, Denmark. |

Palsgaard builds the largest privately owned straw fired burner in Denmark, replacing heavy fuel oil as the heat source for the entire company. |

Palsgaard inaugurates its new spray-cooling tower and new high-tech energy saving warehouse. A new PGPR factory is built in Holland. |

2002 |
Credin A/S and its subsidiaries are sold to Norwegian company Orkla as a part of Palsgaard's strategy to focus on the manufacture and development of emulsifiers and emulsifier/stabilizer blends for the food industry. Palsgaard opens a new subsidiary in Poland - Palsgaard Polska Sp. Z.oo. |

Palsgaard R is established as a sales subsidiary in Russia. Palsgaard Asia-Pacific PTE. Ltd. is also established in Singapore. In addition to serving as a sales office, the company also offers application service to customers in Asia. |

Knud Brix's son Birger Brix (born 1953) takes over as CEO of the Schou Foundation and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Palsgaard A/S. |

In cooperation with Emulsion Holland B.V., a new sales offices is established in South Africa under the name of Emulsion Holland SA (PTY) Ltd. |

Herbert Schou dies aged 83. Emulsion A/S changes name to Palsgaard A/S. |

Herbert Schou had no children and in 1957 the ownership of the Palsgaard companies was restructured from private limited companies to foundation ownership. The foundation, called the Schou Foundation took over the ownership of all the Palsgaard companies. The mission of the Schou Foundation is:

Palsgaard takes the steps to open its first international sales office Palsgaard Verkaufsgesellshaft MBH & Co. KG situated in Germany. |

Together with his Dutch partners Herbert Schou establishes Emulsion Holland B.V. Today, Emulsion Holland manufactures PGPR for use in the chocolate and confectionery industry from a new factory built in 2004. |

Herbert Schou establishes Nexus A/S, an independent company focussing exclusively on research and development, which remains of significant importance to Palsgaard's development today. |

1948 |
Knud Brix (born 1922) is employed as personal secretary to Herbert Schou and member of the financial department. He subsequently proves to be of great importance and influence to the future development of Palsgaard. |

|
Herbert Schou introduces the Palsgaard Foundation - a pension and profit sharing scheme which still distributes part of the company's profits to the employees at the successful completion of each year. Herbert Schou and his parents were very conscious of the values of the employees to the company and both the Palsgaard medal and the Palsgaard Foundation have been and remain important factors in helping to create a sense of responsibility, community and esprit de corps in the Palsgaard companies. |

Herbert Schou establishes the company's first subsidiary, Emulsion G.m.b.H. in Germany. The factory produces emulsifiers but is destroyed during WWII. |

1933 |
Mrs. Elisabeth Schou, widow of Einar Viggo Schou introduces the Palsgaard medal - a silver medal which, combined with a generous gift of money, is awarded to employees who have 25 or 40 years of service at Palsgaard, respectively. More than 245 twenty five year medals have been awarded since. And within the past decade Palsgaard has celebrated fifteen 40th jubilees and four 50th jubilees, not to mention the 60th jubilee of Knud Brix. |

Herbert Schou establishes Credin A/S - a company specialising in the production of baking improvers, which in their field have a unique position in Denmark as well as abroad. The company is sold to Orkla in 2002. |

Einar Viggo Schou dies aged 69. His son Herbert Schou (born 1902) becomes Managing Director of Emulsion A/S. |

Palsgaard Emulsion Oil is patented. Subsequently, Palsgaard A/S has since taken out more than 60 world-wide patents. |

Einar Viggo Schou builds the emulsifier factory, Emulsion A/S in close proximity to the Palsgaard Manor. |

1917 |
After 4 years of experiments and trials Einar Viggo Schou invents the Palsgaard Emulsion Oil (PEO), the word's first commercial emulsifier - an invention which proved revolutionary to the margarine industry. |

Being an entrepreneur, Einar Viggo Schou wants to do more than just run the Palsgaard Estate, and in 1913 he establishes a trial margarine factory at Palsgaard. |

|
Einar Viggo Schou (born 1866) returns to Denmark after his successful margarine venture in England and purchases the Palsgaard Manor. He was also co-owner of Otto Mønsted Ltd., which at the time was the world'slargest margarine manufacturer and inventor of the double cooling drum in 1907. Einar Viggo Schou wanted to return to Denmark with his family and to a place that was "beautiful and old", as well as functional. He found his dream in the Palsgaard Estate, whose history can be traced back to the 13th century. |

1898 |
The Palsgaard Estate is purchased by Norwegian diplomat Wedel Jarlsberg, who was instrumental in establishing the monarchy in Norway. Part of the negotiations leading to Norway's separation from Sweden took place at Palsgaard around 1902. |

The German family Schoenaich-Carolath purchases the Palsgaard Estate. |

The Palsgaard Estate is purchased by Peder Reedtz, Chancellor to Danish kings Frederik III and Christian V. Reedtz was Chancellor from 1665 - 1675 and was subsequently established as the actual ruler of Denmark. Denmark was during this time ruled from Palsgaard, when he was in residence. |

Palsgaard Castle is the stronghold of infamous regicide Stig Andersen Hvide, murderer of Danish King Erik Klipping. The Castle was destroid by orders of King Valdemar Atterdag in the 1340s |
